Miller High Life In The Movies: A Compilation
Brewers worldwide have long been staunch proponents of beer and beer related merchandise, via Product Placement, in the movies. Nothing spices up a scene in a film, be it a big budget blockbuster or a low budget independent, like a hot actor or actress drinking an ice cold beer from a frosty bottle or mug. Let’s face it, those scenes make us all want one. And most all of the major breweries are more than happy to donate truckloads of cold beer to the film company in exchange for good product placement in a major motion picture. Depending upon the final draft of the screenplay, the production company will receive plenty of beer and beer related products such as kegs, neon signs for bar scenes, glasses, tee shirts and other assorted merchandise. So, when you see scenes in a motion picture that include a bar or restaurant with breweriana in the windows or on the walls, tables or bar, you can be sure that the brewing company donated all of those as part of their product placement. Let’s raise a glass of cold beer to the breweries. May they always continue to grace our tables and our favorite movies, too!
